Input-based agriculture is characterized as the act of severing this bond: feeding the plant directly with soluble fertilizer makes the child an orphan, dependent on incomplete external interventions that weaken the plant's innate resilience while bankrupting the soil's natural capital. The Green Revolution is diagnosed as having committed a foundational error by treating soil as an inert substrate rather than a living parent, seeking to raise the plant's potential while dismantling the very system designed to fulfill it.
The paper draws a sharp distinction between two agricultural technologies through this lens. Selective hybridization, akin to crossing a horse and donkey to produce a mule, is judged to work within the boundaries of the Qudratti Nizam, enhancing existing genetic diversity in a manner akin to natural evolution.
